Technical Operations & Infrastructure
Navy veteran and UW Informatics graduate with experience supporting mission-critical networked systems, troubleshooting applications and databases, and leading technical teams. I specialize in finding where complex systems are breaking—and getting them back to a known-good state.

Technical Profile
My background sits at the intersection of infrastructure, applications, databases, and technical operations. I started by supporting mission-critical Navy systems and later moved into modern software and data environments. The common thread has always been troubleshooting: understand the system, isolate the failure, test the hypothesis, verify the result, and document what happened.
Mission-Critical Systems
Spent five years supporting the availability and maintenance of an integrated combat-system network aboard a guided-missile destroyer, where failures required disciplined troubleshooting, controlled restoration, and clear communication.
Infrastructure & Networking
Hands-on experience troubleshooting switches, routers, servers, fiber connections, and network connectivity, with professional exposure to Cisco CLI, Unix, IP addressing, VLANs, configuration management, firmware, and ACLs.
Applications & Databases
Modern technical experience working across PostgreSQL, SQL, Docker, GraphQL, Git, application environments, authentication, permissions, testing, and data validation.
What I'm Looking For
I'm targeting technical operations, infrastructure support, systems support, application support, network operations, and systems integration roles where troubleshooting and technical ownership matter.

Experience
Data Analyst / Software Engineer
Application • Database • Technical Operations
September 2024 — August 2025
- Diagnosed PostgreSQL performance bottlenecks and redesigned data flows around optimized queries, schemas, and pre-aggregated data structures.
- Developed and maintained SQL queries, PostgreSQL migrations, GraphQL-connected application logic, and reporting workflows.
- Troubleshot failures across browser, application, authentication, permissions, database, and test-environment layers using logs, SQL, network traces, and controlled reproductions.
- Supported a containerized development environment using Docker, PostgreSQL, Git/GitHub, local environments, and hosted test deployments.
- Validated new application behavior and analytical outputs against the legacy CrownLink platform before release.
Aegis Computer Network Technician & Work Center Supervisor
Network Operations • Systems Support • Technical Leadership
May 2015 — May 2020
- Supported the availability, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a nine-element integrated combat-system network connecting mission-critical radar, weapons-control, and command systems.
- Installed, replaced, cabled, and troubleshot rack-mounted switches, routers, servers, fiber connections, and associated network equipment.
- Used Unix and Cisco command-line interfaces and performed hands-on network work involving IP addressing, VLANs, device configuration, configuration backup and restoration, firmware/software loading, and ACLs.
- Monitored system health, identified anomalies, performed component-level fault isolation, coordinated restoration across technical teams, and verified system operation following maintenance.
- Led and trained an eight-person technical work center while maintaining technical records and accountability for more than 50 mission-critical systems.
Featured Technical Work
Self-Hosted Infrastructure
Linux • Unraid • Docker • Networking • Storage
A continuously evolving self-hosted environment I use to learn infrastructure by operating it: containerized applications, network services, storage, monitoring, remote access, backups, and ongoing systems troubleshooting.
Linux-based Unraid server running containerized services and network-connected applications across shared storage.
Docker containers, application configuration, storage, networking, service availability, remote access, monitoring, and backup workflows.
I deliberately treat the environment as a hands-on infrastructure lab: deploy services, observe their behavior, troubleshoot failures, document fixes, and learn how the pieces interact.
CrownLink
Application & Database Troubleshooting
Contributed to the migration and development of CrownLink 2.0, a research-data application, with work spanning PostgreSQL, application logic, reporting, permissions, authentication, testing, and cross-environment troubleshooting.
Modernizing a data-intensive legacy application introduced problems that could originate in the browser, application code, GraphQL layer, authentication system, permissions, database, source data, or deployment environment.
I used browser network traces, application and terminal logs, SQL queries, controlled test cases, environment comparisons, and legacy-platform validation to narrow failures instead of assuming the first visible symptom was the root cause.
Database & Permissions
Investigated PostgreSQL permission, row-level-security, query, and migration problems affecting application behavior and performance.
Authentication
Reproduced and traced authentication failures involving application state, sessions, AWS Cognito configuration, permissions, and database state.
Cross-Environment Validation
Compared behavior across local, development, test, branch deployments, and the legacy application to identify environment- and data-specific defects.
Mission-Critical Fault Isolation
Network Troubleshooting • Risk Assessment • Service Restoration
During a deployment, an intermittent network-switch failure began affecting a connected mission-critical system. Because the failure was intermittent rather than a complete outage, the faulty component was not immediately obvious.
I traced the symptoms across the interconnected equipment, developed a hypothesis around the suspected switch, and recommended a controlled swap with an available spare.
Because the action was reversible, I documented the reasoning and expected operational impact before coordinating the change.
Service was restored, and later offline testing confirmed that the original switch contained a degraded port.
